Entries are now open for the Hartland Insurance sponsored Egmont Championship, 36 or 18 holes, with the entry sheet in the club house.
Players are reminded to repair pitch marks and replace divots. Any shot that lands on a green damages the surface and unless it is repaired, an ugly brown scar appears and takes weeks to disappear.
With the ground being so soft, divots are easily dug from the surface, and if not replaced, the ground never recovers. Not only is this bad for the course, but it is unfair for other players.
Attached is a pic of a players ball that stopped in a divot hole, and all he could do was hack it out side ways.
