Mens Report

Wet and cold weather on Saturday 17th put paid to any golf. The second round of the stroke play champs will be played on Saturday 24th.

The tee times are;

11.00. B. Knowles v K. Johns, B. Daysh v T. Cooksley; 11.15. J. Erwood v W. Dymond, D. Shearman v S. Campbell; 11.30. C. Merson v P. Shearer, B. Swindlehurst v G. Kelly; 12.00. L. Eagar v B. Gibbons, M. Cook v N. Bertie

There will be a bogey competition for any member not involved in the above starting at 10.30

Good luck to P. Downs, C. Downs, G. Kite and D. Banham who will represent the club at Manaia in the Top Club Competition.

Other Updates

The Golf Club will be holding a sponsors evening on Friday 28th October as a Thank You to all the efforts provided by sponsors and volunteers. Please contact M McDonald for further details and come along and meet and thank our sponsors.

We have recently had a report of some newly purchased plants being stolen. Please be vigilant around the club and report any suspicious activity.

Coring this year is scheduled to occur on the 10 October. We need assistance to get this done. If you can help out with this, please contact Peter Shearer.

100 club preparations are under way. Payments for this years tournament are now being collected and can be paid at the bar or contact Terry Johnson if you don't intend participating as we have a few new members looking for spaces in the draw.

Team Hope are running a charity golf tournament on the 11th of November. Details will be up on the website soon. If you would like to enter please contact Maria Merson on 027 2263465 or email c.m.merson@xtra.co.nz

With the weather hopefully on the improve and day light saving starting soon, its time to get more golf in. The club is going to introduce a weekly raffle that will be drawn every Saturday afternoon at the close of the day regardless of the number of tickets sold. Prizes will be allocated depending on the number of tickets sold and approximately 70% of the pool will be returned in prizes every week. Tickets will be available in the clubhouse any time a commitee member is available or the bar is open. The results will be posted here weekly.

Sunday 2nd October will be the next Nine Hole Sunday Social Ambrose. Starting between 11 and 12. Bring along your non golfer friends, beginners, partners, kids actually anyone and get them involved in golf. Format and teams organised on the day depending on numbers.

Finally if you haven't done so already please take our survey regarding twilight golf so we can start getting planning under way for this season. Twilight will start on 19th October and Free

junior coaching will commence the same night. There will be a junior schools tournament in conjunction with Tag Oil planned for sometime in November.
