As luck would have it the rain broke long enough for a game of golf to break out on Saturday but only just as by 4pm down came the rain again.
I personally got to play with the two pictured golfers and as you can see one did very well and the other had a good learning experience eh Simon May, so it was Leon Eagar with back to back 38 stableford point rounds comfortably winning the Captains Trophy which was played in a tricky wind it must be said and considering the weather leading up to Saturdays play a special mention to Deano Midgely our new greenkeeper who had the course in fantastic condition.
This Saturday is the Kelly Cup which is stableford off the Red Tees and will be the final chance to gather FedEx Cup qualifying points to make the top 16, Red Tees have proved a surprising challenge since its inception so as easy as it looks ... its not.
The following Saturday is Egmont Champs, in my previous FB post last week I did lament on the fact that members are slow at getting in their entries, I thank the 6 that have entered but its not bloody good enough, I'm happy to pull the pin on the 18 hole tournament and just run it for Taranaki Golf trialists and close the course to members so lets have a bit of effort over this week fellas so I can sort catering etc.
