Saturday the match play finals were played in some of the best conditions one could hope for, big raps to Nick our green keeper and Mike Willis for presenting such an immaculate course with some of the best greens we have seen in ages.
The matches were keenly contested with 2 going right to the 36th hole which made for good watching to see who would blink first, winners for the day was new member Brendon Gernhoefer over Derek Trigg in the Roy Wills, Brian Daysh was too strong for Chris Merson winning the Juniors, Mark Burling got home on the 36th hole with Brad Gibbons charging back in the final 9 holes to nearly send it to extra holes, James Smithson kept his nose in front pretty much most of the way as the momentum keep swinging back and forward in the Senior final against Jordan Anderson and probally be fair to say James superior putting won the day in another match that went to the wire.
Congratulations to the winners and for those of you that took trophies home so you could sleep with them get them back over the next couple of weeks please.
Now that Stroke and Matchplay have been put to bed we can crack on with the men's program, this weekend we have the first round of the Speding/Ennis Cup which is a 2 round comp for best nett and best Stableford over those 2 rounds, you will all receive a txt as I will be creating a draw for it so be great to see some good numbers turn out for this and for those of you who didnt know Graham Cup which is 2 man Ambrose will kick off directly after this comp so if you haven't found a partner best you do so or let me know you are available and we can team you up, pairs will be within 8 shots of each other so if outside that the Junior will come down to that handicap to be within 8, this is a 3 round comp with your best two rounds counting so in theory you can miss a week, we had a massive field for this last year so don't miss out.
Good Golfing Everyone
